Purple Hyacinth Bean is pretty and easy to grow, and it will come back again that far south.
Reply:~Morning glories are defiantly a plus.. and when the flowers die off they reseed themselves.. so you wont have to reseed them year after year.. you can save the seeds and reseed them yourself.. but that not neccesary! plus they come in all different colors AND the have a white one that blooms at night...

~wisteria is good... but sometimes cant get out of control really fast and can grow rather tree like after a few years...

also Clematis very pretty flowers and they come in a few different pretty colors...

i live in Illinois... so i understand full sun.. and all of these do great in full sun! good luck!
Reply:clematis ,but make sure you either mulch the root area or grow a ground cover because it doesn't like the heat on it's roots,often called the crucifixion plant ,many different colors and it is a perennial so it will come back if cared for properly.It loves to climb and uses it's tendrils to grab hold.My second choice would be a cabbage rose, it will be thick as a hedge and provide you with color and aroma.
Reply:I'd suggest kudzu, but I'd probably be run out of town on a rail... %26lt;g%26gt;

Things to think about:

Annual or perennial?

Woody or herbaceous?

Ornamental (like morning glory) or useful (like scarlet runner bean)?

Do you really want a vine, or would you prefer something like a climbing rose?

How much water will it need?
Reply:Take a look a seedless Concord Grape. The fruit is excellent

and the vine over time can provide good shade. If your looking for a vine with profuse flowers look at the

honeysuckle vine.
