I'm an avid interracial/multicultural romance reader, mostly because I appreciate my mixed heritage. As usual, I've been online looking for new reads and I keep seeing this book called Ivy's Twisted Vine. Apparently, there are a lot of online discussions about it. What is so special about this book? Has anyone read it that can give me more details about what it is suppose to be about? And has anyone ever heard of the author?
Why is Ivy's Twisted Vine such a big deal?
I have read the entire book. It is a truly great read. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to feel involved in the character's lives and personalities. I found myself feeling angry, happy, and excited by the twists and turns the author puts Ivy, Grey and Nicola through. This book is definitely a page turner. It's destined to be a huge success!!!
Reply:I think that all books are special. People stop their lives and empty their thoughts on to pieces of paper for others to critique. Unfortunately, not all books are given the chance to shine. Ivy's Twisted Vine is a story based in Memphis about a woman going through struggles with her career, her fiance and the man of her dreams. On top of that, she finds out that she's pregnant by one of two completely Alpha males. Everyone wants to know who is the father and who will she marry in the end. It's not special...it's real. So many of us face the same types of worries in our lives. We may not all be married to the Mayor's son, but we all look for love and find sometimes it is not where we thought it was. The author is from Memphis. So, that's why she wrote about Memphis. Everyday the police are in the news, the mayor is in the news, crime and drugs are infesting the city. This book takes a look into so many more things other than race. It's tagged Interracial because it is, but it is also so much more.
Reply:It's always good to read about relationships that are across the board different. I went to this chic's website and she looks like she's on top of that. She's definitely got sex appeal.
Reply:I like interracial romances, too. I haven't had the opportunity to read the entire book, but from what I've read, it's controversial because it doesn't put all the emphasis on color yet it's a suppose to be a be a really unconventional. I use that word, because I saw it on her website. You should check it out www.latrivianelson.com. Maybe it could be a big deal because of it starts off with this crazy police scene in the prologue and then introduces you to a total opposite guy by the first chapter.
Hope I answered your question.
