Vine Wood . . Genus???

I got this question to do on a holiday assignment and the tree I got given was a Vine Tree.

"Identify which genus this wood belongs to"

Only I don't get what the question means, so I don't know the answer, and I can't ask my teacher cause I'm on holidays.

My parents don't know either of course. Can anyone help???

Vine Wood . . Genus???
You have not specified the name of a vine tree. Anyway, most probably you are looking for a "genus Actinidia" which is a genus of woody plants including shrubs growing to 6 m tall, and vigorous, strong-growing vines, growing up to 30 meters in tree canopies.
Reply:The sites I visited listed the grape vine and the fig as the vine tree. The grape vine has about 8000 varieties, but all appear to be from the genus Vitis which is underlined. Hope that helps. Oh, the fig genus is Ficus with 800 species.
Reply:OK, I couldn't find the specific genus...that's gonna take some research. However, genus is a scientific classifcation. I would look up both what a vine tree is (and what it's related to) and what genuses have those plants. Good luck!
