Grape vine?

In November I cut back my vine to 6 foot. Now I have 8 shoots coming out at the base and one at the top of the 2 original 'branches'. Should I remove the base growth and see what happens with the growth on the old wood ? Also, will I still get grapes this year ? I have been keeping it fed and moderately watered through the winter.

Grape vine?
Remove the growth at the base %26amp; cut a small amount off the top to stimulate branching. If you got grapes last year, you should get them this year.
Reply:prune back some of the shoots
Reply:not a grape expert............. but i would keep 2 shoots at the base and leave the top.............

i think you may have left too much of the old cane.....

thats a long way to push nutrients and water ....
